Information we collect
Information you choose to provide
- Contact information such as your name, email address, social-media handle, organization or phone number.
- Messages, inquiries, interview requests, artist submissions, feedback, correction requests and collaboration proposals.
- Media and project information, including photographs, recordings, biographies, press materials, links, permissions and credits.
- Signed releases, permissions, contracts or other records needed to produce and publish content.
- Newsletter consent information if a newsletter is added in the future.
Information collected automatically
Hosting and performance services may process limited technical information such as device type, browser, operating system, approximate country or region, referring page, visited route, page-load timing, network conditions and basic server logs. The website is intended to use Vercel Web Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights.
Why we use information
- To respond to messages, submissions, proposals and correction requests.
- To plan, produce, edit, publish, promote and archive interviews, showcases and creative projects where permission has been provided.
- To operate, secure, troubleshoot, improve and measure the website.
- To maintain records of consent, releases, licences, credits and copyright permissions.
- To comply with legal obligations, enforce agreements, prevent misuse and protect rights and safety.
- To send marketing or newsletter messages only where legally permitted and with the required consent.
Consent and limiting collection
We aim to explain the purpose of collection at or before the time information is collected and collect only information reasonably needed for that purpose. You may withdraw consent to optional uses by contacting us, subject to legal, contractual, archival, production or technical limits.
Withdrawing consent does not automatically undo a publication or use that was already lawfully completed under a signed release or licence.
When we share information
We do not sell personal information.
- We may share limited information with service providers supporting hosting, analytics, email, file storage, production, editing, legal, accounting or security functions.
- We may share relevant project information with artists, venues, organizers, collaborators or contractors involved in that project.
- We may disclose information where required or permitted by law, or where reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety or security.
- Information may transfer to a successor organization if the business or relevant assets are transferred, subject to appropriate protections.
Processing outside Canada
Some service providers may store or process information outside Manitoba or Canada. Information processed in another jurisdiction may be subject to that jurisdiction's laws and lawful access requirements. We limit shared information to what is reasonably necessary.
Retention
We keep personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, to maintain production and permission records, resolve disputes, meet legal or accounting requirements or protect legitimate rights.
Signed releases, licences and copyright-permission records may be retained for as long as related content remains published or rights questions could reasonably arise.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical and organizational safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information. No internet transmission or storage system is completely secure. Please avoid sending highly sensitive information unless it is genuinely necessary and an appropriate method has been arranged.
Access, correction and deletion requests
You may ask whether we hold personal information about you, request access, ask for a correction or request deletion where appropriate. Send requests to ppmalimbiza@gmail.com and include enough information for us to understand and verify the request.
Certain records may need to be retained where required by law, needed to document permissions, protect legal rights or preserve the integrity of published work.
Marketing messages and newsletters
We will not treat a general inquiry, interview request or artist submission as automatic consent to receive marketing emails. Any future newsletter will identify the sender, explain what will be sent and provide an unsubscribe mechanism.
Children and minors
The website is not designed to knowingly collect sensitive personal information from children. A parent or legal guardian must sign any required release for a participant who has not reached the applicable age of majority.
Third-party links
The website links to services such as YouTube, Instagram, LinkedIn and other third-party websites. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies. Boogie Bangers is not responsible for how those third parties collect or use information.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the services evolve. The effective date will be changed when a material revision is published. New features that materially change how personal information is handled should be reviewed before launch.
